Rheumatoid arthritis (ra) is an inflammatory disorder of unknown origin that primarily involves the synovial membrane of the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis (ra) is the second most common type of arthritis, affecting about 1.5 million americans. Rheumatoid arthritis (ra) is a chronic inflammatory condition.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of chronic (ongoing) arthritis that occurs in joints on both sides of the body, such as hands, wrists and knees.

The hallmark feature of this condition is persistent symmetric polyarthritis (synovitis) that affects the hands and feet, though any joint lined by a synovial membrane may be involved. It can also affect the heart, lungs, and other parts of the body. These symptoms usually begin from small joints of hands or feet and can later affect other large joints too. Some patients experience disability and loss of joint function.
